4eTurnTracker

A D&D 4e Combat Manager

I just tried this tool. WOW!!!!!!!!  I've tried every 4e combat manager and this is by far the best. It has all of the features I'm looking for and the GUI is perfectly organized and easy to use.

No, I'm in no way affiliated with this tool or it's programmer. I just thought I'd give it a two thumbs up so others may benefit from it.

4eTurnTracker 1.5.05 has just been released. The main feature of the update is the ability to import ".monster" files. This is most useful if you are using the new online D&D Adventure Tools to create and modify existing Monsters. The only way to export Monsters from the Adventure Tools is by creating a file which uses the .monster format.

Now all you need to do is dump the Monsters you have created to a folder on your machine. Then, in 4eTurnTracker's Monster Manager window, locate the folder from the "Import" tab. The program then lists the directory and you can pick the Monster you want to import, or select Monsters to be updated that have already been imported.

The new version also comes with a number of other improvement to the Monster Manager, including:

  • A "New & Paste" button which now makes importing Stat Blocks that you have copied from a PDF or HTML page a one-click job!
  • You can now specify the Adventure of an Encounter. This enables you to organize and pick Encounters according to the Adventure.
  • The Monster Manager now provides a number of ways to generate Monster IDs, which makes Encounter creation even quicker.

In addition to this, I have implemented a number of features requested by users:

  • Added "Init" and "Defenses" columns to the main initiative list. In case you have a small display, you can hide these column by right-clicking on the column titles.
  • After you have entered a value in the HP Box in the Toolbar, the ENTER key can be used in addition to the damage hot-key (CTRL-T). So now you can cause damage with the key-stroke sequence: TAB <number> ENTER.
  • The accumulated Damage and Heals display in the Player's Window can now be disabled. Right-click on the Player's Window to bring up the options.

For more details on this release, please check out the release notes. If you find any bugs, be sure to let me know! :)

(UPDATE: I have pulled 1.5.04 because it had a bug in the .monster XML file parsing).
